Rabbits Revenge ( Derek Pollard, Lyndon Harris, Trevor Hargreaves, Martin Benson), challenging for third spot in Division 1 of Halifax Bowling Club’s winter league found Four Play (Ray Clegg, Keith Hanson, Geoff Hughes, Dave Russell) in a determined mood in their latest game. Four Play who had dropped into the relegation area, raised their game as Clegg, Hanson and Hughes all registered wins against Pollard, Harris and Hargreaves. Only Benson scored a win for Rabbits Revenge as he beat Russell, 21-12. Four Play ran out 20-14 winners to move out of the relegation area with 207 points from their 13 games played.

Pellon (David Agnew, Mark Bolton, David Gowing, Keith Barker) have made a remarkable recovery in Division 1 of Halifax Bowling Club’s winter league. In their latest game they were up against another relegation threatened team Lindley (Richard Saunders, Paul Cooney, Mark Sykes, Peter Hopkinson). Lindley finished third last winter season but this season have not achieved their usual success.  In their latest game Lindley found themselves out bowled by Pellon, as Agnew, Bolton and Gowing all registered wins with Barker losing 21-20 to Hopkinson as Pellon ran out 22-13 winners.

This latest win for Pellon has moved them up the league table into 5th place with 199 points from their 12 games played. Their star player has been Mark Bolton, who has won 7 consecutive games.

Four Play (Dave Russell, Geoff Hughes, Derek Williamson, Ray Clegg) and Strollers (Brian Pickles, Keith Hartley, Peter Lomax, Glenda Hartley) turned in their best performances of the season in Division 1 of Halifax Bowling Club’s winter league.

Four Play were up against title contenders Whirls Wizards (Lorraine Hirst, Shirley Dillingham, Martin Skuse, David Frost), who were level with Clayhouse at the top of the table after 8 games played.

Clegg and Russell were the stars for Four Play as Russell beat Hirst 21-17 and Clegg, playing outstanding bowls defeated Frost 21-8. For Whirls Wizards, Dillingham beat Hughes 21-12 and Skuse defeated Williamson 21-16. Four Play ran out 17-16 winners.
